Entrepreneurship is like having children. I will explain. First of all, it is not for everyone — sorry if that shocks you on either side of the statement; the truth tends to do that to me too. The simple truth is that you must be made for them to survive and thrive.

Much like having children, you fall in love instantly, completely and irreversibly. Love takes but an instant to overwhelm you when the right thing comes along. The most wonderful relationships can run their course; the greatest love affairs can go sour; the sweetest friendships can meet a bitter end and even the most invincible people may leave each other through death or divorce but I never saw a day that I would fall out of love with a company that was my pride and joy, my identity, my definition of productivity, and my one true measure of success.

Oh really? I specifically did not want to leave because I was blessed with wonderful managers.

I precisely left the company, the institution and the entity; I left what it had all come to represent, in exchange for its initial greatness. I used to believe I can do everything! By everything I mean my growing list of passions and aspirations from which responsibilities and commitments are naturally born. By doing I mean doing well, extremely well. It is either a job well done or a job not done at all, as far as I am concerned because my reputation is on the line. A few weeks ago, I realized I live in my own happy bubble of wonderland where my days are endless, my time immeasurable and my body an infinite source of energy. Then I woke up and I had to make a very tough decision.
