The most challenging part in returning home from an exhilarating event [insert your dream event here!] is what to do next? How do you take the sensory overload of information and inspiration and channel it to something useful, something original, something meaningful and valuable? How do you apply what you learned to your life? How do you infuse your work and your goals with so much inspiration that you are good to go until next month or even next year or dare I say, indefinitely? What do you do differently? What do you start anew? Where do you push? Where do you let go? [Read more…] about Best Quotes from World Domination Summit – Day 2

Best Quotes from World Domination Summit – Day 1
What do you take home with you from a once in a lifetime experience? People’s faces? Smells and sounds of the place? Photographs you may have snapped? Goodies they may have given out at the event? Memories of great laughs and greater conversations yet?
All of the above? Definitely all of the above plus one more if you went to the World Domination Summit in Portland: The phrases that left you speechless, the few that made you move to the edge of your seat, the many that gave you a quicker pulse in the chest or in my case, the ones that brought on unplanned tears in the least likely parts. The World Domination Summit in Portland – My Pilgrimage
I went on a pilgrimage the first weekend of June 2011.
A pilgrimage is generally defined as a journey in search of great moral or spiritual significance. It is often a path followed by devout and deeply religious people and I am, well, not religious but nonetheless, on a pilgrimage, I went. The Power of Human Connection
Social media has redefined the Power of Human Connection.
For those of you who live a perfectly normal life, unaffected by the deafening thunderstorm that is social media, I would describe it as a way to connect instantly with people of similar likes and interests (or complete opposites of the spectrum, you choose) anywhere in the world through online systems and applications.
That means carrying on conversations with a new friend in Egypt while answering a question to a peep in Paris and figuring out the best route to Tokyo from Narita Airport with your new best buddy in Japan. It means knowing how a marathon for a friend turned out in San Francisco and watching the streams of feedback coming out of a keynote speech live in Las Vegas in case you are missing it. It means being there to sympathize with a tragedy, to show support when needed, to pull someone through a problem and to help someone with a dilemma.
It is powerful beyond measure and it can change your life. Develop, grow and engage with your network (affiliate). [Read more…] about The Power of Human Connection
You, Your Travel Fears and The Fear-Crushing Travel Guide
What many have said to me over the years:
“I wish I could travel like you.”
“You are so lucky to travel so much.”
“There is no way I can travel with my children.”
“Go on all your travels before you have babies.”
“Traveling is risky; it’s just not safe, not these days.”
“I love to travel, but I hate to leave home behind.”
And my least favorite:
“Oh yes, of course I am going to travel someday. You should see my dream list of countries to visit …. someday. Someday soon!”
Traveling is so widely accessible to us human beings today that I wonder why those who dream and desire it so much are not out there doing it all the time! Some of us want to go to Europe; some dream of Africa. Some people want to travel to the far east. In fact, when I lived in Iran, taking a holiday in Cyprus was one of the most popular destinations. One day, I will need to make a trip just to Cyprus for that. Can you think of a place where you want to take a holiday and yet have not made any plans to go?
And yet real travel fears and anxieties stand in the way of even the best of our intentions, the type of fears that cripple the most steady dreams of travel in the most willing hearts and confident souls. [Read more…] about You, Your Travel Fears and The Fear-Crushing Travel Guide
