Social media has redefined the Power of Human Connection.
For those of you who live a perfectly normal life, unaffected by the deafening thunderstorm that is social media, I would describe it as a way to connect instantly with people of similar likes and interests (or complete opposites of the spectrum, you choose) anywhere in the world through online systems and applications.

That means carrying on conversations with a new friend in Egypt while answering a question to a peep in Paris and figuring out the best route to Tokyo from Narita Airport with your new best buddy in Japan. It means knowing how a marathon for a friend turned out in San Francisco and watching the streams of feedback coming out of a keynote speech live in Las Vegas in case you are missing it. It means being there to sympathize with a tragedy, to show support when needed, to pull someone through a problem and to help someone with a dilemma.

My Unending Gratitude to Your Show of Support

A labor of love has many hands and hearts at work. There may be one true leader for the effort but it is quite never without the support of at least a precious few others.

My labor of love started over 4 months ago — with an idea. Ideas, I truly believe, are the beginning of everything. But those fragile beginnings need intense love and attention so as to let your ideas bloom and blossom. In this case, the idea was a seed for my first product and for Prolific Living’s first offering to its beloved readers and followers — and after 4 grueling months of a true labor of love, the Fear-Crushing Travel Guide launches on Friday, April 29th.

The product creation process, which I shall document for posterity sometime after launch in case you are itching to create something of your own, naturally taught me countless lessons. So much learning to absorb and to put to good use. So many exciting new things to integrate into future products and services. Every lesson was invaluable but only one came as a complete surprise. So it is December again, another year bidding us a swift goodbye when we are just starting to like the sound of it. Ready or not, like it or not, in the cold of the night (except for you lucky souls on an island or in the southern hemisphere), we switch over to a new year.
